Home Benefits Services About Friends

If an animal experiences trauma, injury (including surgery), or normal stress and strain, the body will naturally strive to heal itself. But sometimes we all need a little help to repair and recuperate, or simply to relax and find a place of increased physical and mental comfort. Animal massage, used as a complement to regular vet care, is a vital proactive part of a complete wellness plan for your four-legged friends.

Massage can help when emotions are out of balance too. It can help alleviate issues dogs and cats commonly face, such as separation anxiety, nervousness, timidity, and lack of confidence. I am blessed to live with an abandoned shelter dog and five rescued cats and I understand that animals’ bodies and memories can hold onto past traumas. I strive to help them release past pain and retrain emotional and muscle patterns to live confidently, happily, and without fear.

Massage is not, nor is it meant to be, a substitute for veterinary care.

When a particular muscle group is compromised, other muscles may compensate, in turn also becoming contracted, tightened, or shortened, and leading to even more discomfort. Massage helps ease muscles and tissues back into a place of comfort, increases circulation of blood, lymph, and other fluids, and helps the body find its own natural alignment.
